Understanding The Difference Between Intuition, Imagination, and Instinct.

Intuition, imagination, and instinct. These are three words, 3 concepts that people often find difficult to distinguish between. It is time to clear up that confusion. In this article, I will help you to clarify the differences between the three once and for all, starting with understanding instinct.

Your instincts are your genetic survival drives. Every creature, large or small, that has a nervous system has instincts, as they are a basic survival tool for any living creature. They do not require any intelligence, and they don’t involve any kind of inspired guidance from your Higher Self. Instincts are nothing more than the basic drives wired into your physiology.

Your imagination is something completely different. It is a creative tool that is driven by your conscious and subconscious mind in response to your desires and intentions. Your imagination has the ability to craft visions towards the manifestation of your reality. While driven by your physical mind, the imaginative process uses many of the same inner senses as your intuition does as it evokes into being new worlds and possibilities. Your imagination is directed by your will, and is a powerful tool in the conscious creation process.

Using your imagination as a gateway or portal, inspiration can also flow and bring forth great acts of creativity. Your imagination and inspiration are like twin bridges to your intuition. When you use your imagination to visualize a place within your mind, you create an ideal internal space from which you can access and interact with your intuitive self, receiving insights and information from your subconscious mind and from your Higher Self.

This means that your imagination is a flexible tool and passageway on the road to your intuitive development. The environments and situations you invoke in your imagination serve as a backdrop and foundation for your intuitive practices. For example, imagination is key to success in guided visualization. It sets the scene and creates an appropriate setting from which you can open yourself to higher vibrations and receive insights and impressions through your inner intuitive senses.

Working with your imagination to access your ‘inner realm’ is something that is explored in detail in the Intuition Zone program. If you are ready to commence your exploration, take the first step and visit http://IntuitionZone.info

There Are Many Advantages When You Practice Buddhism

Buddhist practice

Millions of people follow Buddhist studies but there are still many people in the Western culture that are unfamiliar with Buddhism. It is a religion that dates back thousands of years and has helped many people overcome their suffering and has taught countless others how to help end the suffering of their fellow man. This religion can seem difficult to understand when you first begin but if you take the time to learn the basic tenants, then you can find your own happiness and sense of self-fulfillment that many miss in life.

Within Buddhism there are two main schools of the traditional Buddhist teachings. These are Mahayana and Theravada. They both have enlightenment as the end goal but differ in how the path to enlightenment is traveled. Each has a set amount of chants and rituals that followers practice every day of their lives. Once you read about the basic differences you can see which path fits your beliefs best.

The Buddhist religion and philosophy is based on the teachings of Gautama Buddha. There are four main beliefs that the Mahayana and Theravada believe in. These are: the Middle Way, Dependent Origination, the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path. The journey to Buddhahood is the highest attainment that anyone following the religion Buddhism can attain.

Many people associate the Buddhist religion with meditation practice, a Buddha statue and Buddhist practice. These are all true for this belief. Meditation is a huge part of attaining enlightenment. It requires the person to enter into a Zen like state in which they search for the meanings of life. Many people who practice this religion will have a Buddha statue as a reminder of the trials and tribulations that Gautama Buddha went through on his journey to enlightenment. No one is asking you to fast and remain still for forty-nine days, as the Buddha did, but it does require some discipline.

One of the main tenants of this philosophy and religion is that you should not cause harm to others. The religion and spirituality Buddhism teaches is that the way to spiritual enlightenment is through letting transgressions go. Yes, there will be pain and suffering in life but each person should hold nothing against others for their wrongdoings. To hold transgressions and hatred close to the heart only stops the person from growing spiritually.

Buddhism is experiencing an awakening in the West as more people are turning to aspects of this philosophy and applying them to their lives. They are finding that the Buddhist practice of meditation is actually a huge stress reliever. There are even classes, such as in Yoga, which offer some of the Buddhists practices into a way that Westerners can utilize in their lives. If you are suffering from stress and a feeling of emptiness, then perhaps you should give the Buddhist philosophy a try.

Why is Past Life Regression So Beneficial?

by James A Simmeon

People have always had a great interest in learning about their past lives. Many religions have a strong belief in the existence of a past life. Most want to learn about their past lives out of curiosity but the fact is you can make a change for the better in your life by using it. Most people do not think about it that way when they seek to discover their past lives.

Past Life Regression is appealing to many people because they like the idea of learning who they were and what happened in their past lives. They do not realize that they can use this knowledge to change their present and future lives for the better.

Modern science has also dwelt a lot on the beneficial features of Past Life Regression and most studies have concluded that indeed, humans can make a positive change in their lives by learning from the traumatic experiences of their past lives.

To learn about your past lives you will need to go to a hypnosis that specializes in Past Life Regression. You can also do it with self-hypnosis. There are other things that are useful as well.

Try simple affirmations to help you. You need your subconscious mind to accept that it is okay to remember your past lives as it is more normal for you to ‘block out’ these memories.

Before embarking on a Past Life Regression session, there are several things that you need to understand and accept.

We all hold the memory of our past lives somewhere deep inside our subconscious minds. It is indeed a part of our everyday life. The memories are there, and with a little encouragement, you can remember these events from the past.

You cannot just know about your past life and expect your life to improve. You have to take the necessary steps to put this information to use before it will benefit you.

You will need to learn from the mistakes you made in your previous life and refrain from making them again. This is how you will use the knowledge of your past life to live a better life in the present.

For those who do not believe in reincarnation Past Life Regression can still help them have a better life. Even if they believe their memories of the past are only imaginary, they can still apply it to better their lives and avoid mistakes in what they do day by day. It is a great tool for people who wish to change their lives and have greater success.

There are a couple of good reasons for using Past Life Regression whether you believe in it or not. The following is the two main reasons to do this according to experts:

a) If what you learn from remembering your past life helps you to have a better life, this is because what you remembered was from a past life.

b) If you think you have imagined everything it can still be of help to you as it can clear your head of things that are stopping you from being successful.

What benefits should you expect from Past Life Regression?

1) The trauma of the past life has a negative effect on our present life. Remembering it helps us to heal and live a more positive life.

2) We can think more clearly and make better decisions due to this experience.

3) If you know what you have done in the past to hurt someone and suffered the consequences you will change this behavior. Remembering the past life where you have done this will make you take a second look at your present behavior.

4) You will find skills and talents you do not realize you have. You may have skills you are not aware of because you do not remember them. You can develop these talents once you know what they are and change your life forever.

5) You will have a better understanding of yourself and realize why you do the things you do. You will know why you have a certain personality or characteristic that was a mystery to you before.

Past Life Regression is certainly a win-win proposition for believers and disbelievers. If you want to make a positive change in your present life, it is definitely worth trying!

So You Would Like To Be A Lucid Dreamer

Many people want to dream lucidly. If you’re among them, the first thing you need to think about is how you want to go about learning.

You also need to think about exactly why you want to become a lucid dreamer. What are the benefits of dreaming lucidly? To help us find the benefits, let us first look at ‘normal’ sleep.

When you go to sleep, you get into bed, close your eyes for a certain length of time, and either dream or just see black for a few hours and then wake up! It isn’t very interesting now is it?

The human body has a built in requirement for sleep. It rests the body so that we are prepared to continue our lives. Without it, there is strong evidence for insanity. That is all well and good but there is nothing saying we cannot control certain aspects of sleep is there?

Lucid dreamers are in complete control of their dreams. This allows them to explore new worlds in their mind and expand the scope of their dreams. Lucid dreamers can also conscious choose not to have nightmares – they just change the dream.

Are you are ready to begin but remain unsure of how any of this is possible? That is ok we are getting there, there are two way to enter lucid dream state. The first is a dream initiated lucid dream, (DILD). This happens once you have already begun to dream and during the dream, you come to the realization that you are indeed dreaming. At this point, you have brought an element of control to the dream because your conscious mind is now involved.

The second way is having a wake-initiated lucid dream (WILD); where the dreamer goes from being awake, to being asleep with no change in consciousness. In other words, the dreamer enters their dream as if it were a door, rather than just “waking up” in a dream.

How exactly do you induce either one of these lucid dream states?

Dream Recall

A simple place to start when you would like to lucid dream is in dream recall. This is where you can remember and perhaps recite your dream in part or in whole. You are very likely to have the same dream more than once in your life and being able to remember them will alert you the next time you have that particular dream.

The way to practise dream recall is by keeping a dream journal. The dream journal is meant as a tool to write down anything you can remember about your dream, in order to recall it for the future. This should be done right after waking up; otherwise dreams will become harder to remember.

Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD)

This technique was developed by Dr. Stephen LaBerge, one of lucid dreaming’s lead scientists. The method used here is telling yourself that you’ll remember something in your dream. Once in the dream, you’ll see this object, recall what you told yourself, and realize you’re dreaming.

Wake-Back-to-Bed (WBTB)

The process here is to go to sleep, doing nothing but setting your alarm to wake you up a few hours later (5 or 6). Once you wake up, DO NOT go back to sleep. Instead, do something else like read for a while, or think as much as you can about lucid dreaming for around an hour then go back to bed.

In studies done this method has 60% of the time. When you are interrupted in the middle of sleep, you are interrupting rapid eye movement sleep. This is the time when dreams are the most active. Therefore, you stop in the middle of your best dreamtime only to return to sleep a short time later, improving your chances of entering lucid dream state.

Cycle Adjustment Technique

This was created by Daniel Love, and what it is, is setting your alarm to wake you up an hour and a half before your normal time. Once you’ve adjusted to waking up early, alternate your alarm to wake you up normally and early. During times you are to wake up normally, you’re body will already be ready to wake up early, and therefore, you will be likely to be awake in your dream.

Wake-initiation of Lucid Dreams (WILD)

When you consider all the methods and techniques wake initiated is by far the most intriguing way to enter lucid dreams. What you have to do is manage to keep the brain aware while the rest of you falls asleep. You can enter your dreams much like entering a theater. You go into watch the movie, set down and the light go down, (sleep) dark envelopes you just before the movements on the screen appear.

A number of ways to stay aware are counting, imagine climbing or descending stairs, chant, control your breathing, count your breaths, and concentrate on relaxing the body from their toes to head. (This all falls under the term ‘self hypnosis’.) It is best to do this when you are not tired, like in the afternoon.

Technology has moved on in recent years, and there are various devices like dreaming masks and other scientific appliances which contain such things as strobe lights to induce lucid dreams.

If you want to increase, your chances of success use the method that has proven to be the best. Using a set of headphones listen to binaural beats at the right sound frequencies during sleep.

The sounds bring the two sides of the brain in synch. Your brainwaves are then converted to REM waves the time during sleep when you dream and the frequency at which lucid dreams occur.

Combined with self hypnosis sessions and personal affirmations that help prepare your subconscious mind, these methods make being a lucid dreamer a reality for anyone.

Regression Therapy – Why Should You Remember?

by David Shakkid

Are you suffering from feelings of abandonment? Do you have an addictive personality? Does it seem like you are always the victim of an evil person? Do you have issues with rage or anger? What are your relationships like; are they healthy? Do you feel like something is missing even though you seem to have it all?

If you are having one or more of these problems and nothing has seemed to be effective in resolving the issue; with these problems continuing to plague you then this article is for you. You may not have considered it before, but regression therapy could be the answer you’ve been seeking.

According to the Past Life Therapy Center, Regression Therapy means facing the dark to encourage the light. It is a category of hypnotic therapy wherein the client is being assisted by a therapist to return to his past experiences with his mind still being conscious.

These previous experiences include episodes of one’s adulthood, adolescence, early childhood, and the period wherein the individual is still inside the mother’s womb.

Past life regression therapy however takes this a step further and takes clients back in time to before conception; to a time before their previous life.

This is not a concept that everyone can accept. ‘Conventional’ science tells us that this life is the only life we experience and when we die it is the end.

Some clients for example have reported detailed memories of fighting in a historic war, others speak of hunting in the Stone Age and yet others recall their present spouse from a former life.

What is really exciting is when people can manage to physically verify information about things that they remembered during their past life regression therapy session. This can be done by looking at old parish records etc.

There are scientific studies going on around the world showing well documented cases of children remembering everything about a past life. Often this past life was just a few years before their present life and so they are able to meet friends and family still living who they have amazingly accurate memories of.

The experiences that we have had in these past lives can help us understand the way that we are now – there is a much better perspective to be gained on one’s behavior with this kind of insight on the past.

A term called Faulty Thoughts was coined by regression therapists. This describes the negative internal dialogue that we have and may have created in another life experience. It becomes a part of the emotional baggage we carry around with us today.

The only person who can change these negative thought processes is the one who created them in the first place. For this reason, the client must undergo regression therapy that enables him or her to change the negative energy into positive. This can be achieved by things like forgiveness, karmic repayment and re-patterning.

Forgiveness is a basic biblical principle; the entire faith is dependent upon it. Karmic repayment is the idea that we must repay the wrongs we have committed even if they are from a previous life. Basically correct the bad behavior to correct the bad karma.

Only after undergoing these corrective measures can we re-pattern our energy fields by replacing them with gentleness, care, tranquility, and harmony.

Regression therapy can be quite exhausting but is reportedly a life-changing event. Most people say their results were positive ones; leading them to a life with a better outlook and strengthened sense of self.

But of course, to achieve this result, every client must have a tough commitment to know himself thoroughly and change the way he is expecting his life to be.

Regression therapy offers a truly unique way of looking at the human mind and personality and whether to help with problems you may be having or to satisfy your curiosity about past lives, it is something worthy of your consideration.

Chakra Meditation For Everyone!

by Jonathan Benjem

Meditation is considered as a powerful form of self-realization and self-healing. There are various methods by which you can meditate, but perhaps, the most potent of all is the Chakra Meditation.

Introduction to Chakra Meditation

Chakra Meditation is the art of balancing and energizing all the seven energy centers in the body, called Chakras, in order to align the flow of energy through them. Heres a brief description of these seven energy centers, or the Chakras:

1. Root Chakra governing your general health, prosperity and well being is located at the base of the spine and related to the element Earth.

2. Orange or Naval or Sacral Chakra located at the center of abdomen and related to the element Water. It governs our emotions and sexuality.

3. Solar Plexus or Power Chakra located just above the naval region and related to the element Fire. It governs our will power, autonomy, and metabolism.

4. Heart Chakra located at the center of the chest and related to the element Air. It governs love, compassion, and relationships in our lives.

5. Throat Chakra governing your sense of creativity, resonance and communication skills is located at the base of the throat and related to the element Sound.

6. Orange Chakra, also called the Naval or Sacral Chakra, is situated at the center of abdomen. It is related to the Water element, which governs our sexuality and emotions.

7. Root Chakra, also called the Base Chakra, is situated at the base of the spine. It is related to the Earth element, which governs our overall health, security, and prosperity in life.

A concentrated mind working towards the achievement of synchronized movements of these seven Chakras in the body can truly bring incalculable rewards in ones life. The body, mind, and soul would become stress-free and youll emerge as a better-informed human being who can easily see the spiritual side to every materialistic possession in this world. One can also achieve natural healing for bodily and mental ailments just by bringing the seven energy centers in consonance with each other.

Chakra Meditation ” The Process

Chakra Meditation is the sum total of the following three techniques:

1. Grounding Technique refers to the process whereby, your body feels connected with Earth. The visualization involves assuming a root growing from your body and entering into the Earth, thus, transfixing your body to the ground. With some intense focus and determination, you can achieve this state of Chakra Meditation.

2. Centering Technique refers to the process whereby, your body gets prepared to receive the benefits of Chakra Meditation. The actual step involves taking 3-5 deep breaths. And visualization involves the assumption of feeling of relaxation of every body part from toe to head by tightening and relaxing each body part starting from toe, and moving in the northwards direction, till the head. The final act is the visualization of the act of centering a pot on a pottery wheel.

3. Relaxation Technique, which is the final step in Chakra Meditation. There is no hard and fast rule to relax your body. Everyone has his or her own method of relaxation.

One of the popular methods of Chakra Meditation is detailed below:

a) Sit or lie down comfortably.

b) Every stress-causing factor should be addressed and effort should be made to reduce or eliminate the stress as far as possible. Start with loosening the clothing you are wearing. Identify other similar straining factors and eliminate them. And finally, close your eyes.

c) Breathe in a relaxed manner, which is neither too fast nor too slow. Let the breath come naturally!

d) Feel every part of your body from toe to the crown in that direction. Feel the earth you are lying on or the sofa you are seated on, feel the clothes you are wearing. Feel completely present with yourself and relaxed.

e) Initially, your efforts will be met with stiff resistance from negative thoughts and emotions. Dont suppress them! Theyll disappear with time and practice.

f) Dont hinder your awareness! Let it flow freely from one part of the body to another.

Do this exercise for any length of time and at any time of the day!

Have A Great Life Once Again With Chakra Meditation

by Anne-Marie Laureaut

Meditation has been part of man’s way of life for over two thousand years. All religions out there use some form of meditation as a way to achieve a higher spiritual consciousness in ones life.

At first meditation was used mostly by religious priests, but through the years meditation has been picked up by ordinary people when they discover just how the various benefits work.

Meditation isn’t hard in fact what it is really is the simple practice of concentrating and the intense focus on sounds, objects, ideas, breathing, action or even movement that will allow you to intensify perception, cut down on stress, ehance your relaxation, and gain a personal and spiritual growth.

Meditation has been used in the past to build up a persons spiritual knowledge and even there awareness of the ultimate reality, but now it has begun to be employed by people who want to relieve stress and even pain.

Western medical practitioners are realizing that meditation has help people to cope with different health issues, so they are beginning to promote it to their patients more and more. In fact they have begun to use it along with medicines to help and relieve aches and pains for several people.

It is very interesting that medical clinics and even hospitals are starting to offer the practice of meditation as a method for several of their patients to improve their health. In fact meditation has begun to be used as a method of treatment of some diseases. Also it’s being used as a way of improving overall quality of life for people who are suffering with chronic, debilitating or even incurable illnesses.

There are three different approaches to meditation, first is transcendental, then relaxation response and third is mindfulness meditation, which is usually referred to as mindfulness-based stress reduction.

Meditation focuses on the seven major chakras, which also correspond to the body’s major endocrine glands.

If you practice meditation for at least 30 minutes a day your body’s functions will become more balanced and harmonious.

As energy continually flows from the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras during meditation the entire body’s biological, emotional and spiritual aspects are equally nourished and balanced and in the process physical, emotional and spiritual toxins are cleansed.

Since chakra meditation requires deep concentration the uninterrupted flow of energy into the body also gives a boost to the major chakras (and their corresponding endocrine counterparts).

For a clearer grasp of chakra meditation, think of it as a turbocharger for the body; a sort of catalytic converter that gathers outside energy and channels the same into useful fuel of the body’s chakric system.

Since chakras are such an essential part of our body and its metaphysical and physical manifestations, the tuning of them is very important to our everyday lives. And it will also affect our lives in directly or indirectly, emotionally, physically, intellectually and even spiritually.

As previously mentioned, there are various ways to practice chakra meditation; regardless of the methods employed the initial and basic steps are almost all the same; to achieve concentration and allowing the state of focus to spread throughout the whole body.

You will not notice an immediate change from practicing chakra meditation, but more of a gradually change that will slowly take over your thoughts to give you a more positive outlook on life. Meditation is believed to help a person live a better life and be happier both physically and emotionally.

The most notable effect of chakra meditation is that a person’s ability to concentrate and awareness are greatly enhanced even only after a week. Imagine if you are performing chakra meditation for years!

Commonly reported benefits of chakra meditation are heightened creativity, enhanced resourcefulness due to better perception of events, objects and the general surrounding of an individual in general. It is also proven that regular meditation helps people improve their sleep patterns and benefit from deep sleep. The advantages of deep sleep can not be understated since it helps to improve a person’s overall health, restores the body’s energy stock and makes you feel stronger.

If you practice daily chakra meditations you will also notice a great reduction in the level of stress in all areas of your life. Because you will have better control over your emotions and better patience

It has been proven that overall health and well being are improved when a person practices meditation. You can even help to lower your blood pressure, and this will reduce the chances of heart attacks and strokes in a person. Also meditation will help to reduce stress in a person who is suffering from a chronic health condition; this will allow the person to feel less pain from their problems.

Although you may only practice meditation for half an hour daily, it will greatly contribute to making your day more relaxing and enjoyable and make you live a healthier, more productive life.

Chakra Therapy For Life!

by Nisal Karuiyaratna

The chakras (the word literally means energy wheels) are lined up along the center line, or meridian, of a person’s body according to ancient Vedic thought.

Certain mystical practitioners even believe the number of these wheels to be fourteen.

Beginning at the base (believed to be either the bottom end of the spine or the genitals) they go right up to the top of the head, the crown.

In between there are: the orange chakra of the womb or belly; the golden chakra of the solar plexus; the green chakra of the heart; the blue chakra of the throat; and the indigo chakra known as the third eye, on the center of the forehead. The base chakra is red, and the crown chakra is violet right above the head but as its circumference extends outward, away from the head, it turns whiter.

In addition to being associated with colors (wavelengths of light), the chakras are numbered in order one through seven, with the base chakra being number one.

The first chakra controls our physical health and vitality and our sexual health.

The second chakra is responsible for all of our creative powers.

The third chakra is responsible for our desires and what we want.

The fourth chakra commands the energy of our emotional life and opens us up to giving and receiving love.

The fifth chakra gives us communicative power, loops our emotions in with our thinking, and gives us personal magnetism.

The sixth chakra is responsible for our intuition and extra sensory powers, which is why we call it the sixth sense.

The seventh chakra is used to take us on astral voyages and connects us with cosmic awareness, some of which is what is captured and brought back down to the second chakra during artistic practices and which is also accessed on shamanic journeys.

When people focus on the energy of this seventh crown chakra they really are communicating with God.

The chakras spin in their natural state. If they are healthy then they will spin and will then provide you with the optimum energies you need. If however they become unbalanced they can not spin and you will therefore experience illness or sickness in one or more of the areas outlined.

The secret to health is that these chakras should be balanced. In case even one wheel is more active than others, the result can be addictions, neuroses, obsessive-compulsive disorders or unintentional cruelty.

There is constant worry that these chakras will become blocked. For instance, some people who possess a negative attitude towards sexual relations or have a poor diet will experience ill health or broken romantic relations primarily because they have disturbed the base red chakra.

The seventh chakra is prone to disruption in people who are forever thinking of negative actions towards others like working black magic. When this purple-white wheel is disturbed, the cosmic connection is hampered. Consequently the person feels bitter, fearful, and empty.

A healthy, rapid spinning chakra is extremely flexible and is able to open and shut when necessary. This gives it the ability to receive energy from a source which is good, but close when a negative force is attempting to transmit its own bad energy. If it is not healthy however it will be unable to prevent you from receiving this bad energy.

Chakra therapy means basically that you focus your attention and concentration on each of the seven main chakras in turn. This should really be done on a daily basis.

When you meditate, you will be able to pinpoint the chakra that requires cleansing. Thereafter just concentrate on making that energy category strong so that the energies are restored to their healthiest best.

Some people find that meditating on a gem stone the same color as the chakra wheel allows them to get a clear image in their mind of what actions they need to take to make it healthier.

Recently it has become possible to just listen to the individual chakra sound frequencies. By listening to the particular frequency of each chakra your own chakras resonates at this frequency and become completely balanced.

Influence Of the Seven Chakras

by Jonathan Benjem

Chakras are the focal points of the body where life force energy is generated. Chakra means wheel; and it refers to the spinning sphere of life energy that term represents.

There are six main chakras that are stacked in a column along a person’s spine, and there is a seventh that is above them, beyond the physicality of the body.

While we understand these Chakras as energy, you need to understand that these seven Chakras influence your body.

A healthy alignment of all of the seven Chakras will allow you to maintain your own health and happiness during your life. It is important to understand what each of the chakras is, and what it does for you.

Muladhara

The Muladhara is the Chakra of your lower body. This is also known as the root or base Chakra. This Chakra relates to your survival and other instincts. Muladhara has to do with the potentiality of human life. This Chakra is located in the perineal region, near the base of the spine.

This is the Chakra which corresponds to the adrenal glands in the physical body and produces the fight or flight response.

Swadhisthana

The Swadhisthana is the chakra that contains the reproductive parts. The chakra is located in the area known as the sacrum. It relates to emotions such as sexuality and creativity. The chakra corresponds to the sexual organs, and produces the sexual hormones that guide our lives.

This chakra can also be responsible for the mood swings that might dominate lives at one point or another. It is symbolized by a six petal lotus. This chakra is in charge of the moods that you might have and the basic sexual and creative flows that exist in your body.

Manipura

The Manipura is the navel. It is considered to be the solar plexus chakra. This chakra deals with the transitions that are found between base emotions and complex emotions. The chakra itself is in charge of base emotions and complex emotions, and dictates the way that they flow into each other. It deals with the flow of energy, the flow of digestion, and can be compared to the way that the pancreas functions in the body.

The Manipura is important in converting food to energy. It’s symbol is a ten petal lotus.

Anahata

The Anahata is the heart. This Chakra is responsible for love and other complex emotions, as well as your sense of equilibrium and well being overall. This Chakra corresponds to the thymus gland (located in the chest) and the immune system in the physical body.

This symbol of this Chakra is a twelve petal lotus

Vishuddha

The Vishudda is the throat. This Chakra is responsible for your faculties of communication. This Chakra corresponds to the thyroid gland in the physical body. This Chakra is symbolized by a sixteen petal lotus.

The Vishudda also governs the process of growth.

Ajna

The Anja is the eyebrow or the forehead. It is also considered to be the third eye. This chakra is in charge of being a model of its own envisioning. This is the chakra of time, light, and of awareness.

It is symbolized by a two petal lotus, and is in charge of regulating sleep and awakening. These are very important functions within the body, and therefore this chakra is very important.

Sahasrara

The Sahasrara is the seventh and final Chakra. The Sahasrara is the most important of all Chakras. This Chakra governs consciousness and as such, it is also important to every other Chakra and every system in the human body. This Chakra corresponds to the pituitary gland in the physical body. This Chakra is symbolized by a thousand petal lotus.

Healthy Life With Chakra Color Therapy

by Jonathan Benjem

Its a traditional knowledge that human body contains a reservoir of energy deep within. The highly evolved souls propagate harnessing this energy in order to create the ideal living conditions in and around us. They abjure the idea of external help to restore normal body functioning. The theory that gained ground was Chakra balancing, i.e., synchronized movement of seven primary energy centers within the body, to improve all aspects of life (spiritual, emotional, and physical).

These seven Chakras each have a distinct color associated with them, which governs its movement ” balanced or imbalanced. If there is an imbalance, you can correct it by employing Chakra Color Therapy to the relevant imbalanced Chakra.

The main Chakras along with their description and associated colors are discussed below:

1. The Root Chakra, or Muladhara, is located at the base of the spine. This chakra is associated with our basic survival needs, vitality, and courage. The associated color is Red, which is known for its qualities of vitality, and provides energy on all levels.

2. The Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) is situated in the lower abdomen. This second chakra is associated with second basic needs, i.e., our sexual drive and emotions. The color associated with this chakra is Orange. The attributes of Orange color for the body includes conviction in ones actions and the art of thinking independently.

3. The Solar Plexus Chakra, or Manipura, is located just above the navel. This chakra is associated with will, identity, and power. The associated color is Yellow, which is known for its qualities of self-worthiness, clarity of thought, and intellect.

4. The Heart Chakra (or Anahata), situated at the center of the chest, is associated with love, relationships, and compassion. Green is the color associated with this chakra, which empowers the body with the sense of forgiveness and intimacy.

5. The Throat Chakra (or Vishuddha), situated at the base of the throat, is associated with communication, creativity, and resonance. Blue is the color associated with this chakra, which empowers the body with the sense of self-identification and clarity in communication.

6. The Brow Chakra (or Ajna), situated between the brows on the forehead, is associated with perception, intuition, and imagination. Indigo is the color associated with this chakra, which empowers the body with qualities, like visualization, understanding, and clear vision.

7. The Crown Chakra (or Sahasrara), situated on top of the head, is associated with consciousness, knowledge, and wisdom. Violet is the color associated with this chakra, which empowers the body with a sense of spiritual awareness and self-awareness.

Chakra Color Therapy refers to simple practices of using and incorporating the relevant colors in our routine lives in order to correct the imbalanced Chakra. For this, the first obvious step is to identify the Chakra whose movements are disturbed and thereby, inviting an adverse reactions from the body.

The next step is Color Breathing. This is simple exercise of relaxation with all the seven (colored) cloth swatches besides you. After identifying the disturbed chakra by going through the events of the day, take the colored cloth swatch, and lay them on the body part associated with the affected chakra. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and visualize the color being absorbed by the chakra. The constant practice of this process for 5-10 minutes should be enough for the balancing of the affected Chakra. If more than one Chakra is out of balance, repeat the process for the imbalanced Chakras.

Chakra Color Therapy is a healthy option for maintenance of chakra balance. For daily maintenance, just lie down and repeat the above process by placing the relevant colored swatches on the relevant body parts. 5-10 minutes should be sufficient to recharge your chakras and correct the imbalanced ones to give you a better life free of physical, emotional or spiritual ailment.
